A workshop for students interested in musical theatre

Join us in the heart of San Gregorio nelle Alpi for an immersive training in the tradition of American musical theatre!
The Fondazione Lucia De Conz and the Wertheim School of Music at Florida International University (Miami, Florida, USA) are partnering to offer a unique cross-cultural exchange for aspiring Italian and American performing artists. Under the guidance of seasoned professionals from the United States, participants will explore the rich tapestry of the American musical theatre tradition through a comprehensive curriculum including:
- Acting and improvisation
- Basic musicianship
- Musical score analysis
- Character development
- Stage diction
- Acting through song
- Individual and group singing voice instruction
Saturday and Sunday, May 18 & 19 – 10 am to 5 pm
- 10 places available for Italian students (18 to 24 years old)
- Fee:140€, no audition required, lunch non included in cost
- Overnight accommodation with breakfast is available at the Fondazione upon request

About the Instructors:
- Dr. Helen Tintes–Schuermann
Singer-actor Helen Tintes-Schuermann enjoys a career that encompasses opera, oratorio, concert and musical theater. As a concert artist, Tintes has appeared as soloist at numerous European festivals and with orchestras, fine arts series and universities throughout the USA. Tintes has taught at important universities and conservatories and continues to perform and give masterclasses regularly in the USA, Europe and China.
- Nuria Camino
Nuria Camino is a renowned soloist, collaborative pianist and pit orchestra musician based in Miami, Florida. Since 2016, she has been piano faculty at Florida International University’s Wertheim School of Music, where she teaches class piano 1-4, applied lessons and is the dedicated pianist for the Musical Theatre Program. Ms. Camino frequently collaborates with vocalists and instrumentalists throughout South Florida.
